DO’s and Don'ts for CA Exam by CA Rank Holders

There is an English saying “Winners do not do different things, they do things differently”, so if you also want to be the winner you have to do things in different ways. Each and every CA student strives to pass the exam on their first attempt. Despite the fact that it seems tough, it’s not. If you are a studious and conscientious candidate then you can surely achieve your goal. Many diligent students succeed on their first attempt and some even achieve rankings.

Does that mean those who didn't succeed must change their entire professions and are misfits? No, not at all!

The tactic is crucial. Remember that smart work and smart decisions combined with hard work are more effective than hard work alone.

First of all, we are here with some tips used by the rank holders to succeed in exam:

·         The Best Strategy:

Without a strategy, a goal is just a dream. The most common thing that is seen in all the top rank holders is planning. By strategic planning, you can get better outcomes and make better use of your time. It provides you with a comprehensive view of your situation so you can act properly.

·         The ICAI Exam Pattern:

ü  For CA Foundation Exam: The CA Foundation exam consists of 4 papers, each worth 100 marks, according to the exam's 2023 schedule. The remaining 2 papers are objective type, while the first 2 papers are subjective. The scanner has all subjects’ CA Foundation Books for the upcoming 2023 Exam.

The CA Foundation course carries a total 400 marks. To pass the tests, students will need to receive at least 200 of these 400 marks. Additionally, 40 marks are required for each paper to pass.

ü  For CA Intermediate Exam: The ICAI's official website has the CA Intermediate exam schedule for the May 2023 exams. According to the paper format, CA Intermediate has eight papers. Each student will have three hours to complete the paper, which includes both objective and subjective questions. Each paper carries 100 marks. In total, 800 marks are required to pass the CA Intermediate exam. Students can prefer Scanner’s CA Intermediate Books if they like. These books will definitely help them to achieve good scores.

Students must receive passing scores of at least 40% on each paper and 50% overall in order to pass the exams.

ü  For CA Final Exam: The ICAI CA Final exam pattern 2023 calls for eight papers which are divided into two groups, each of which carries 100 marks. 800 points make up the total score for the CA Final examinations. Read CA Final Books by Scanner to score good marks. According to the passing requirements, students must receive 40 on each paper and 400 overall to pass the tests. The tests will have both objective and subjective questions.

Never Skip Mock Test Practice:

A CA Mock test is just as same as the CA Exam which is practiced to give you the exact feeling of the exam. Here you can practise the sample questions and follow the same grading criteria. Also you have the same amount of time to complete the exam so that you can understand how you have to complete the paper in the given time.

Top CA rank holders strongly support to practice more and more mock tests due to the advantages involved.

The Multiple times Revision:

As the syllabus of the CA curriculum is so vast, it is impossible to retain everything unless it is revised multiple times. All the top rank holders always advice to make sure that your revision should be done on a daily basis. Whatever you have been taughted in the class or you have studied from yourself should be revised daily. Also you should stick to a particular set of notes because revising from different sources might lead to confusion. You can take the help of CA Entrance Exam books to make good notes. Last day revision of all the topics is a must, students should prepare short notes where they can cover all the relevant topics for their last day revision.

Set Your Priorities:

When you study for long hours at a stretch, you become tired. Students should ensure that they get proper sleep, eat right, and subject their time to important things only. Do not extent your breaks, said one of the rank holders. Don't forget to take frequent breaks, but get back to your books as soon as possible.

Here is the list of do’s and don’ts, used by rank holders to succeed in their CA Exams:

Things that we should do and don't do before the exam:

·         For practical subjects, create a list of subheadings for topics and point-wise notes on all the important topics for each chapter.

·         Get at least six to seven hours of sleep every night, even on exam days. Unknowingly, doing this will help you score higher than studying for an additional hour or two because your brain functions best when it is active and not sleepy.

·         Examine the queries you find difficult once more. Your self-confidence will rise as a result. There's a chance that the exact question may appear on the exam.

·         Be careful not to overlook or take any chapter's principles for granted as doing so could cost you valuable points on those questions.

·         Resist the need to drop the rigour at the last minute due to internal pressure; instead, spend time with family or friends and don't worry; this is perfectly appropriate.

·         Try completing one paper for each topic to get a feel for working under time constraints.

·         If you chat to a friend about something new, don't study it or practice it unless it's something you have to know, as these acts could make you feel less confident.

Things that we should do and don't do during and after the exam:

·         Go to the exam location in good physical condition. This will help you to solve all your questions. Always keep an “I know everything” attitude. This will provide you with a positive vibe.

·         Avoid engaging in discussion with other candidates before the test starts.

·         Within the first 15 minutes, do your best to decide which question to leave as a choice or to reduce it to two.

·         If an answer becomes extremely odd, proceed with it according to the defined stages regardless of the outcome.

·         Don’t talk to anyone on call or in person after returning from your exam because this will only make you worried. Instead, make a thorough plan of what you are going to do during those hours so that you don't have time to worry or have queries.
