All of the Chartered Accountant exams in India are administered by ICAI. In India, a person must successfully complete Class 12 from a recognised state board or central board in order to become a chartered accountant.

Duration of the CA Course After 12th: 

The length of the CA programme in India varies from student to student. It will take a student who enrols using the CA Foundation route method approximately 4.5 years to complete all training and exams on time in the first attempt.

Since they are exempt from the CA Foundation steps, students who are graduating or who have recently graduated would have a shorter time to complete the CA Course.

How to Become an Indian Chartered Accountant:

After 12th, becoming a CA is fairly simple. In order to pass the CA Steps class 12th students in India must pass all three levels of the CA examination. 

The Important CA Course Details after 12th grade are listed below: 

 CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final

After completing grade 12, students must also complete three crucial training sessions in order to become a CA.

  • ICITSS ( Integrated Course for Information Technology and Soft Skills)
  • Articleship training ( 3 years)
  • AICITSS ( Advanced integrated course for Information Technology and Soft Skills)

 

  • CA Foundation: 

The first level of the exam that a student who plans to enroll in a Chartered Accountant course after 12th must pass is called CA Foundation. The programme was formerly known as CPT (Common Proficiency Test). To make it a little more difficult, it has now changed to CA Foundation. This stage must be passed by students who are considering How to Become a CA After 12th grade.

Students have been given four months to prepare for the CA Foundation examination after registering for the CA Foundation. The easiest CA exam in India is CA Foundation. The CA Foundation exams have four subjects in total.

Students must receive a minimum of 40% in each subject and an overall grade of 50% in order to pass the CA Foundation stage and advance to the CA Intermediate stage.

  •  ICITSS ( Integrated Course for Information technology and Soft skills)

Following the CA Foundation exam, there is a 2.5 month training period. The student studying to become a Chartered Accountant must complete the same training in addition to the exam. The ICAI requires that you complete these courses.

ICITSS is a 15 days training programme that combines IT and orientation classes to teach fundamental information skills. 

Students learn about the fundamental computer abilities needed by chartered accountants as well as communication skills.

  • CA Intermediate:  

One of the most crucial levels of CA, as well as one of the hardest, is Intermediate.

Two groups make up CA Intermediate Subject. Students can decide whether to present both groups at once or separately.

The CA Intermediate exam serves as a bridge between the CA Foundation and CA Final exams. Students receive in-depth instruction on the financial or accounting aspects. They are also given instruction in both theoretical and practical aspects of CA.

Nine months are allotted for students to study for the CA Intermediate exam.

They can enroll in the CA Articleship training after passing either one group or both groups.

Training for CA Articleships (3 years): 

In order to apply for the CA Articleship training, you must successfully complete at least one group of CA intermediate along with the ICITSS training.

Articleship training for CAs is required, and students are encouraged to join a CA firm and complete the required three years of training.

Students who have only passed one group must pass the second group as well before they are qualified to take the CA Final. 

  • AICITSS ( Advance integrated course for information technology and soft skills)

In this more advanced ICITSS programme, students learn advanced PC accountancy skills in addition to lessons on how to present themselves, communicate, and get advice on how to grow personally.

Students who have completed their articleship training or are within the final six months of their articleship training may sit for the CA Final Examination.

  • CA Final: 

The CA Final exam, which is also one of the most difficult ones, is the last milestone for CA Final students. To pass the test, students must put in about 12 to 14 hours of study time.

Students can enrol as members of the ICAI after passing the CA Final Examination to become chartered accountants in India.

These are the various training programmes and exams that students must pass in order to become Indian chartered accountants. CA is not that difficult; with consistent study, unceasing effort, and analysis, students are able to perform well on and pass CA exams.
